This project, designed by Paul Bentley MBALI MSGD and delivered by Atlantes Landscapes, involved the complete transformation of a garden that had fallen into total disrepair. The original space was unsafe and unwelcoming, with collapsing retaining walls, unstable fences, derelict sheds, and leftover rubble from previous building works.
Our clients, new parents at the time, wanted a modern, family-friendly garden that combined style and sophistication with practical spaces for their children to play and grow.
Key Features of the Renovation

New Boundary Fencing: Providing privacy, security, and a safe environment for family life.

Millboard Composite Decking: A generous, dual-purpose deck serving as a contemporary dining and entertaining area, while also functioning as a secure play zone for children.

Retaining Wall & Steps: Constructed with striking Ecu marble stone and integrated ambient lighting, softly illuminating the deck and steps in the evenings.

Upper-Level Terrace: Paved in matching stone and positioned to catch the last of the evening sun – perfect for relaxing or entertaining outdoors.

Soft Landscaping: A refreshed lawn with new planting beds, small ornamental trees, and a stunning Magnolia grandiflora hedge framing the rear boundary.

Front Driveway Upgrade: A block-paved forecourt providing off-road parking, designed with new drainage to comply with SUDS regulations.
The Result
The garden is now a stylish, multi-functional outdoor living space, blending contemporary elegance with practical family use. It offers safe play areas for children, sophisticated entertaining zones, and thoughtful landscaping details that will grow with the family. This transformation demonstrates how a previously unsafe, neglected garden can be reimagined into a functional, beautiful, and modern outdoor space.
