This Surrey garden project is a great example of our expertise in transforming overgrown, multi-level gardens into practical and stylish outdoor spaces. This project highlights the level of craftsmanship and attention to detail we bring to every garden.
Contemporary Paving & Steps
To create a sleek, timeless look, we used Beige Sawn Sandstone paving from Londonstone, complete with bullnose step treads and risers. These details enhanced the garden’s structure while making the level changes safe and visually appealing.
Spacious Millboard Decking Terrace
The centrepiece of the design was a large entertaining terrace built with Millboard Golden Oak Enhanced Grain composite decking. Millboard was chosen for its durability, slip resistance, and natural timber appearance, making it perfect for a long-lasting, low-maintenance space.
Bespoke Garden Construction Features

Water Feature: A striking Foras water table set into oak sleeper retaining walls, bringing movement and sound to the garden.

Garden Building: A small timber structure set into the planting in the rear corner, blending practicality with design.

Boundary Improvements: New retaining walls and fencing were installed, ensuring strength, privacy, and longevity.

Garden Design with Attention to Detail
A project of this scale demonstrates how important it is to combine the right design decisions with expert application on site. The success of any landscaping project rests not only on the choice of high-quality materials, but also on their correct installation, ensuring longevity, safety, and a finish that elevates the whole garden.
Understanding the topography of this multi-levelled site was essential. Careful planning of the retaining walls, steps, and terraces allowed us to transform what was once an unusable slope into a series of functional, inviting spaces. Every material was selected with purpose – from the Millboard decking that offers durability and a natural look, to the sawn sandstone paving that balances the design with a timeless, contemporary style.
Equally, working within budget constraints required thoughtful solutions. By balancing premium features with smart, practical detailing, we were able to achieve a stunning result that met both the clients’ vision and their investment. This approach is central to our work: delivering gardens that are not only beautiful and functional, but also sustainable and realistic.
