As our business continues to grow, we’re looking for an ambitious Assistant Landscape Team Leader to join our team.

About the Role
This is a genuine career development opportunity.
You’ll work alongside our experienced Team Leaders, assisting with the day-to-day management of projects while developing the leadership skills required to become a Team Leader yourself.
You’ll help oversee projects, support the team on site, maintain exceptional standards of workmanship and provide leadership whenever required, including covering holidays and sickness.
This role is ideal for an experienced landscaper who enjoys responsibility and is ready to take the next step in their career.

Key Responsibilities
* Assist the Team Leader with the day-to-day running of landscaping projects.
* Lead the team when the Team Leader is unavailable.
* Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
* Help plan daily workloads and organise labour, materials and equipment.
* Carry out quality checks throughout each project.
* Motivate, support and encourage other members of the team.
* Lead by example through your attitude, workmanship and professionalism.
* Promote excellent Health & Safety standards at all times.
* Help maintain company vehicles, tools and machinery.
* Complete site records and communicate progress with management.

About You
We’re looking for someone who is technically excellent, dependable and ambitious.
Essential
* Minimum 6 years’ experience in hard landscaping.
* Excellent practical knowledge of:
* Porcelain paving
* Natural stone paving
* Block paving
* Timber decking
* Timber structures
* Retaining walls
* Drainage
* Fencing
* Setting out and levels
* Concrete works
* Full UK Driving Licence.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Strong communication skills.
* Honest, reliable and trustworthy.
* Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
* Good understanding of site Health & Safety.
* The ambition to develop into a Team Leader.

    Due to our continued growth, we are recruiting for a full time, permanent Landscaper to be an effective, active, and key member of the team.

    This is a great role for the right candidate who has a wealth of experience in all aspects of landscaping.

    The basic responsibilities of the role are:

    • Lead with Excellence: Supervise and motivate your team, ensuring they are well-coordinated and adhere to safety protocols.
    • Create Beautiful Landscapes: Oversee soft landscape projects to deliver sustainable and aesthetically pleasing environments.
    • Ensure Quality: Regularly inspect work and materials, maintaining high standards that meet client specifications and industry guidelines.
    • Promote Safety: Conduct regular safety talks and enforce protocols to keep your team safe.
    • Maintain Equipment: Ensure all vehicles and machinery are in top condition and promptly report any maintenance needs.
    • Keep Accurate Records: Maintain detailed documentation of work activities, safety check sheets, and materials used.

    • Minimum 5 years experience in hard landscaping
    • Minimum 3 years experience as a team leader
    • Reliable, organised, hard-working
    • Logical and methodical with attention to detail
    • Enjoy a physical work environment in all weathers (including manual lifting), and be prepared to multi-task

        You will be part of a specialist team to assist staff in delivering high-quality garden and ground maintenance, to include soft landscaping to our customer base.

        The Candidate

        Essential Attributes

        • UK Full driving Licence – this is non negotiable, do not apply if you do not hold one.
        • 3 years proven employment in the garden and grounds maintenance sector.
        • Horticultural knowledge, qualifications and exceptional plant ID are essential

        • Experience with all machinery such as ride on mowers, mowers, strimmers etc.
        • Health / Safety and COSHH management.
